The work under this project has led to multiple large scale implementation in inpatient and outpatient settings with major impact on the hospital operations.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Systematic Risk Management in Food Supply Chains<br \/>\n<\/strong>A multi-year collaborative project in China, partially funded by the Walmart Foundation and the Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center. With four collaborating academic and industry organizations in China, and multiple PIs from across the MIT campus (Sloan, Engineering and Sciences), the project aims to develop predictive risk analytics models that inform the management of economically motivated adulteration (EMA) risks, as well as innovative testing technologies to monitor food supply chains. The research is focused on the upstream parts of the supply chains including farming supply chains which are known to be highly distributed and opaque, and a source of many risks in food supply chains in China and worldwide.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Agriculture Supply Chains in India<br \/>\n<\/strong>Joint project with Karen Zheng funded by the MIT Tata Center and engages multiple industry collaborators in India. The project is focused on various issues related to the design and operation optimization of agriculture supply chains and markets in India.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Fresh Food Waste and Access<br \/>\n<\/strong>Joint project with Georgia Perakis focused on issues related to access to fresh food and waste in vegetables and fruits supply chains. The project aims to estimate food waste and access to fresh food and develop supply chain interventions to reduce waste and increase overall consumption of fresh food.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Assortment Optimization<br \/>\n<\/strong>Joint project with Vivek Farias that is partially funded by an NSF grant to develop new optimization algorithms for core static and dynamic assortment problems. The project is focused on the heuristics that admit theoretical performance analysis and scale computationally on instances with practical size. In addition, the project studies various model estimation techniques.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-16-0-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_mit-pf-wysiwyg widget_mit_pf_wysiwyg panel-last-child\" data-index=\"2\" ><h2 class=\"widget-title\">Grants<\/h2><div class=\"textwidget\"><ul>\n \t<li>2019 \u2013 Walmart Foundation Award: \u201cSystemic Risk Management of Food Supply Chains in China\u201d ($7.5M), lead PI (with other PIs: Yasheng Huang, Stacy Springs, Tony Sinskey, Michael Strano, Tauhid Zaman, and Y.
